Due to different measurement and production processes used by V-belt manufacturers, different length specifications arise across manufacturers.
However, these differences do not affect the functionality of the straps.
Different industry standards use different parameters to determine the length information.
A distinction is made between the external length (Length external, Le for short), the internal length (Length internal, Li for short) and the effective length.
The effective length describes the length measurement at approx. 3/4 height of the belt according to DIN 2215.
Furthermore, for reliable length measurement, the belt tension specified by the vehicle manufacturer must also be taken into account, as this is also an important factor in the production process.
Due to these different measuring methods, there may be different V-belt dimensions from different manufacturers for the same vehicle.
